How you can support the running, work and mission of the parish community
STANDING ORDER
The easiest way to do this is by setting up a standing order through your internet banking. You will need to set up Catholic Church Wanstead Our Lady of Lourdes as a payee on your own online banking app or internet page.
If you do not have access to internet banking, we can provide you with a standing order form which you will fill in and take to your bank who will set up the standing order for you.
In both cases you will need to provide the following information:
The Parish Bank details are as follows:
HSBC PLC, High Street, Brentwood, Essex
Account Name: | Catholic Church Wanstead Our Lady of Lourdes |
Sort Code: | 40-13-22 |
Account number: | 71018973 |
If you use this method please put your Surname and Initial as a reference. If you are a taxpayer, please Gift Aid your donations. Any queries, please contact Bob Fox at wansteadinancegiftaid@brcdt.org
ONLINE PAYMENT METHOD
Contributions to the parish can be made online via the Diocesan website at http://www.dioceseofbrentwood.net/donations?Parish=wanstead or by scanning the QR code shown below with your smartphone and selecting “General Offertory.”
In an increasingly cashless society we have followed the lead of many other Churches, and installed a contactless card reader, which will allow you to make contributions to the Parish finances via your debit or credit card.
To activate the machine simply touch the screen with your finger and then chose the amount you would like to offer.
You will also notice that you can apply Gift Aid to your contribution.
Alternatively you may write a cheque payable to Our Lady of Lourdes Wanstead with your Gift Aid number (if you have one) on the reverse. The cheque can then be posted to Clergy House if you wish.
If you are a taxpayer, please Gift Aid your offering.
In December 1917, at the invitation of Fr O’Grady, the Sisters of Mercy, opened their convent in Cambridge Park, the stables being converted into a temporary Church.
Later, the foundation stone of Our Lady of Lourdes Wanstead was blessed by Arthur Doubleday, the then Bishop of Brentwood, in July 1927.
The Church has been sustained by the people of God here in Wanstead for 100 years. Long may the faith continue to grow and thrive here.
